Welcome

As a church that believes in the inerrancy of God’s Word and His immeasurable power, we believe that He has placed us here for a purpose – to share the love of Christ with others, raise up believers through discipleship, and then send them out to do the same. We hope you will join us in our mission to grow and walk in the love and knowledge of Christ.

Vision & Mission Statement
“Helping People Spread The Fragrance Of Christ Everywhere By Helping People See God At Work”
Here at Magnolia, we believe in Christ-centered teaching that takes a believer from understanding the milk of God’s Word to applying the meat of God’s Word, with the goal to make disciples who are more Christ-like (2 Timothy 2:2; Luke 9:23; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
We value giving of the things God has given us – our time, talents, and treasures to glorify God and further His kingdom (Deuteronomy 15:7-8; Luke 6:38; Proverbs 11:24-29; 2 Corinthians 9:7).
We value living a life of worship honoring God in all that we do (Colossians 3:23; Matthew 22:37; Philippians 1:20-21; Romans 6:13, 16, 19)!

We believe prayer is the communication between the human soul and the Lord who created it. As such, it is the primary way for believers to express their emotions and desires to God and fellowship with Him (Exodus 30:11; 1 Samuel 1:15; 2 Chronicles 32:20; Psalm 73:28; Ephesians 3:14).

We value gathering and sharing together with one another because of our shared relationship in Christ and our duty to share the gospel (1 John 1:3, 6-7; Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 1:9).
We value commissioning believers to reach our community through personal witness and service (Matthew 28:18-20; Psalm 96:3; Acts 13:47; Matthew 5:14-16).

Please feel free to ask any additional questions or concerns about our Church Covenant, Articles of Faith, or how to become a member of our congregation. We would love to have you join our church family.

History

Magnolia Baptist Church was first established in 1858. For almost 165 years, the members of Magnolia have faithfully served and shared the message of Jesus Christ.

The original building was located in front of the present church and was a simple frame structure. Construction of the current sanctuary was completed in 1970, with the current fellowship hall being completed in 1995.

As a cornerstone to the Stedman and surrounding communities, Magnolia’s congregation continues to seek God’s will for their church and community, deliver God’s infallible Word, minister to those in need, disciple new believers, and grow in God’s full and perfect love.

What We Believe

As united believers and members of the body of Christ, we believe the Bible is inspired by God, the Maker, Preserver, and Ruler of all things. The Bible is God’s complete and perfect Word, infallible and inerrant. We believe God is revealed to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. We accept that God created man in His own image and free from sin, but through the temptation of Satan, fell from righteousness and was separated from God. To redeem mankind, we believe Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, is the divinely appointed mediator between God and man. Having taken upon Himself human nature, yet without sin, He perfectly fulfilled the law and suffered and died upon the cross for the salvation of sinners. He was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended to His Father, at whose right hand He lives forever, making intercession for His people. We accept that salvation is only possible through Jesus Christ and is available to all people, by His grace and through our faith in Him.
